Description

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs (MoMA) is inviting applications for the prestigious position of Chief Nautical Surveyor within its Directorate General Ports & Shipping Wing in Karachi. This position is on a contractual basis for a period of three years, with the possibility of extension based on performance.

The Chief Nautical Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing various technical aspects related to maritime operations, including command of foreign ships, nautical surveying, and maritime examination. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with international standards and regulations within the maritime industry of Pakistan.

The ideal candidate must possess a Valid Certificate of Competency as a Master of Foreign Going Ships and have a Bachelor’s degree in Technology in Maritime Studies. A minimum of 3 years of experience in command of foreign ships is required, with at least 1 year of experience as a Nautical Surveyor. Candidates with experience as a Surveyor in a recognized Classification Society or as an Examiner of Master and Mates in a Marine Academy/University in Australia, Singapore, or the United Kingdom will also be considered.

This is a full-time, contractual position with an estimated salary range of PKR 300,000 to 600,000 per month. The selected candidate will enjoy various benefits and allowances as per the MP Scale Policy, 2020, approved by the Government.
