Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, is inviting applications from qualified Pakistani citizens (Male/Female) for project-based positions under the prestigious HEC-National Research Program for Universities (NRPU). The research project titled “Identification of Genetic Determinants of Congenital Heart Malformation in a Consanguineous Pakistani Cohort via Integrated Genomic Sequencing (Project # 115190-10)” has been awarded to KMU faculty at the Department of Molecular Biology & Genetics, Institute of Basic Medical Sciences (IBMS), Khyber Medical University, Peshawar.
These are purely temporary/contract positions based at the IBMS campus in Hayatabad, Peshawar. KMU is renowned for its commitment to excellence in academics and research, making this an outstanding opportunity for scholars and researchers passionate about molecular biology, genetics, and genomics. The positions are funded under the approved project budget and offer a chance to contribute to cutting-edge research on congenital heart disease in Pakistan.
This HEC-NRPU project focuses on identifying genetic factors behind congenital heart malformation through integrated genomic sequencing — a field of significant medical importance in Pakistan where consanguineous marriages are common. Successful candidates will work alongside experienced KMU faculty members, gaining hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, genomic data analysis, and biomedical research. This is an exceptional platform for PhD scholars, MPhil students, and BS-level researchers to enhance their academic and professional credentials.
Applicants must be Pakistani nationals and meet the required qualification criteria for their respective positions.
